“Mission accomplished” to Fasig-Tipton’s staff in creating a successful 2009 Saratoga Sale. With 25% more horses offered the sale dramatically improved in every category as the chart above shows. We believe that sellers will again benefit from intensive marketing and promotion in 2010. But we suggest our clients consider the unusually high number of horses purchased by Darley interests last year and the effect it had on the sale. Caution: Avoid the “herd” mentality to participate at Saratoga. It is still absolutely critical to take only yearlings of solid physical conformation, with little to no veterinary issues and American pedigree. Consider Saratoga only if your yearling fits these criteria. |
