| We are cautious again this year in recommending the Fasig-Tipton July sale. This sale was historically pin-hooker driven and two year old sellers, having been affected like the rest of the market, were not strong there in 2009.
The sale will be held a week earlier this year which will help California buyers headed for Del Mar’s opening day. Its early date, however, will likely be a disadvantage due to the economic climate.
We will take a limited number of yearlings to July; only those that fit this sales’ criteria. To sell there, a yearling must be strong, developed and forward. First year sires sell better here and American pedigree is essential.
